Slag, also known as blast furnace water quenching grain slag, is a byproduct of blast-furnace iron making. Because of the low cost of slag powder production, , its selling price is lower than cement's, so it is quality raw materials of high-performance concrete and is suitable for large commercial concrete mixing stations. Grain slag can take the place of cement used in a variety of concrete by directly mixing in the concrete commodity. And according to the different activity ratio and surface area, the general mixing content is of 20% to 40%. At the same time, blast furnace granulating slag can be used as concrete modifier which significantly improves the performance of concrete. Therefore there are good economic and social benefits. In addition to the production of cement and concrete applications, crushed slag powder is particularly suitable for high-rise buildings, dams, airports, underwater and underground construction, and other special projects.
