Clay is a kind of natural aluminum silicate which is generally composed of fine-grained minerals, and variable amounts of water trapped in the mineral structure as well. Clay is usually in two different forms – in the form of marl which is substantially wet, or of shale which is relatively dry.
SBM constructed clay crushing machines combining robust design and high performance have overcome the faults of traditional clay crushers such as requirement of great deal of floor space, and exceedingly robust foundations.
SBM provides you with a variety of clay crushers, such as jaw crusher for primary crushing, impact crusher or cone crusher for secondary crushing, and vertical shaft impact crusher for tertiary crushing. Apart from stationery clay crushers, we have a range of mobile crushers for mineral processing. We will design the most optimized clay crushing line for your clay processing plant according to the physical properties and input size of clay ores, the maximum feeding size and processing capacities of crushing machines, and the selected clay processing equipments.
Clay ores, whether in the form of marl or of shale, is generally quarried or extracted in lumps of different sizes. The clay lumps are conveyed by belt conveyor to a clay crushing machine (such as jaw crusher) to break the largest lumps down to a manageable size. The crushed clay materials are then moved to a further clay crushing machine (such as impact crusher, cone crusher) to reduce the particle size down to something of the order of 9 mm. After each crushing process, the clay particles are conveyed to vibrating screen for separation. Fine clay particles of required size will moved to stockpile for subsequent process such as brick-making, while large particles will return to clay crushers for recrushing.
