The Kwale Mineral Sand project is located in Kenya, some 40Km south of Mombasa. This advanced-stage development project is expected to be one of the largest producers of limonite and rutile in the world. Its production is estimated to reach nearly 10% and 14% of the global supply of these minerals respectively.
Owned and operated by Base Resources, the Kwale Mineral Sand project is now undergoing an enhanced definitive study of mining feasibility. The construction is expected to begin the year 2011.
